Bonjour! I am Mark and I am embarking on a journey to make a Z-80 based computer.

Mostly I’m doing it to prove to potential employers that I sort of still know what I’m doing even though I’ve been dealing with leukemia since 2011. I used to be an embedded software developer/electrical engineer, but a dozen rounds of chemo over 3 years fries your brain.  So join me on my journey as I start to reboot my career!

A long battle with cancer is devastating to a high performance career. I lost a lot of my vocabulary and my stamina. And apparently I lost my ability to sound reasonably intelligent in a job interview.

In fact, my #1 career tip for anyone embarking on a career in engineering–don’t get cancer.

So that’s me. Now just follow me as I see if I can still make electronic stuff work.
